Pre-authorized Payment Plan - Property Taxes
The Town of Shelburne issues 2 Property Tax Bills per year, with 2 instalment due dates on each bill (4 instalments per year). The Interim Billing is produced in January with instalment due dates in February and May. The Final Billing is produced in July with instalment due dates in August and October.
As a payment option, a pre-authorized payment plan is offered to property owners. There are three options to choose from by having the monies directly withdrawn (debited) from your Bank account.
Option #1 Tax Instalment Due Date
Payments will be debited on the tax instalment due date. The amount and the date of the automatic withdrawal will be specified on your Interim and Final Tax bill. A message will also appear on each tax bill reminding each taxpayer that they are enrolled in the Instalment due date PAP plan.
Option #2 10-Month Payment Plan
This option consists of 10 monthly payments throughout each calendar year. The Interim Billing will be divided into 5 monthly payments from January to May. The Final Billing will be divided into 5 monthly payments from July to November. There will be NO monthly payment in June and December. A letter will accompany each tax bill advising the property owner of the amount that will be debited from the bank account that has been designated on the last Friday of each month. A message will also appear on each tax bill reminding each taxpayer that they are enrolled in the 10-Month PAP Plan.
Option #3 12-Month Payment Plan
This option consists of 12 monthly payments throughout each calendar year. The Interim Billing will be divided into 6 monthly payments from January to June. The Final Billing will be divided into 6 monthly payments from July to December. A letter will accompany each tax bill advising the property owner of the amount that will be debited from the bank account that has been designated on the last Friday of each month.
